How to Work in Mergado Marketing Buddy?#

The Mergado Marketing Buddy interface is similar to commonly available AI chats. It is divided into several logical sections that enable effective management, team collaboration, and task automation.

Your current credit balance is permanently displayed in the bottom-left section of the extension.

Organisation#

In the Mergado Marketing Buddy interface, you can create and switch between different workspaces in the Organisation (Your organizations) section. You can then invite additional users (e.g. colleagues from your team) to each organisation and share chats, agents, contexts, and all information contained within that workspace with them.

Within the management of each organisation, you will see an overview of sent but not yet accepted invitations. This is also where you manage login credentials for external services such as Fakturoid, MailerLite, GitHub, and others, which Mergado Marketing Buddy then uses via tools in its work.

Chat#

Interaction and communication with Mergado Marketing Buddy takes place within chats, where you can submit your queries both in text and by voice. You can also attach files either by uploading from your computer or by pasting a public URL. Directly in the chat window, you choose the specific LLM model (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) and activate tool groups that Mergado Marketing Buddy should have access to in the given conversation.

The list of past conversations is displayed in the left panel, where they can be searched by name, renamed, deleted, or pinned to the top of the list for quick access.

Contexts#

On the Contexts page, you can manage documents that serve as a knowledge base for the AI. These are documents containing specific information that can be attached to a chat so that the AI responds in line with this data. Each context is assigned a unique ID, which can be used directly in prompts to speed up querying.

Individual documents are created and edited directly in the extension using an editor that supports both Markdown and standard WYSIWYG view.

Agents#

Agents are specialised virtual assistants with a specific focus. They are the main strength of Mergado Marketing Buddy and allow you to automate routine tasks. You can launch, create, and manage them on the Agents page.

Agents can be duplicated, deleted, or scheduled for repeated execution at set intervals. Agents can also be part of advanced workflows, where one main agent manages the work of multiple sub-agents.

Types of agents#

  • Public agents (Public Agents) — Pre-built agents designed for specific tasks. Clicking on a selected agent launches its opening system prompt and you can start a conversation with it.

  • User agents (Your User Agents) — Agents that you create yourself, tailored exactly to your specific needs.

How to create a custom agent#

  • In the Agents tab, click the Create agent button.

  • Enter a name, a short description that will appear in the agent list, and choose an icon for easy identification in the list.

  • Define the system prompt — instructions specifying what role the agent should fulfil, how it should proceed, and what outputs you expect from it.

  • Select the default LLM model (e.g. from the GPT, Claude, or Gemini families).

  • Activate the necessary tools that the agent should have available (e.g. access to data in Mergado Editor, Websearch, or Scraping Camel).

  • Optionally, enter opening questions that the agent will ask the user to gather input information before starting the analysis.

FAQ#

What does the Mergado Marketing Buddy interface look like?#

The interface is similar to common AI chats. It is divided into several logical sections — chats, contexts, agents, and organisation — which enable effective management, team collaboration, and task automation.

Where in the interface can I see how many credits I have left?#

The current credit balance is permanently displayed in the bottom-left section of the extension.

What is a workspace (organisation) and what is it for?#

A workspace is a working environment in which you share chats, agents, and contexts with colleagues. You can have multiple workspaces and switch between them freely. Each workspace is also where you manage login credentials for external services such as Fakturoid, MailerLite, or GitHub.

How can I invite colleagues to my workspace?#

In the Organisation section, send an invitation. You can then see an overview of sent but not yet accepted invitations in the management of that organisation.

How can I submit queries in the chat?#

Queries can be submitted in text or by voice. You can also attach files, either by uploading from your computer or by pasting a public URL.

Can I switch between different AI models in the chat?#

Yes. Directly in the chat window, you choose a specific LLM model from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), or Google (Gemini).

How do I access previous conversations?#

The list of past conversations is displayed in the left panel. They can be searched by name, renamed, deleted, or pinned to the top of the list for quick access.

What are contexts and how do I use them?#

Contexts are documents that serve as a knowledge base for the AI. You attach them to a chat and the AI then responds in line with the information they contain. Each context has a unique ID that can be used directly in prompts to speed up querying.

How do I create or edit documents in contexts?#

Directly in the extension, using an editor that supports both Markdown and standard WYSIWYG view.

Can I run an agent automatically at regular intervals?#

Yes. You can schedule each agent for repeated execution at set intervals. The result is then saved to a selected context or remains in a newly created chat.

Can one agent manage the work of other agents?#

Yes. Agents can be part of advanced workflows, where one main agent coordinates the work of multiple sub-agents and processes their results into a single final output.

How do I create a custom agent?#
