Shapes#

Shapes are static layers in a Feed Image Editor graphic template that let you insert geometric elements into product images, such as a circle, rectangle, and triangle. These shapes serve as ideal backing labels for CTA elements such as text, prices, logos, or discount icons, ensuring great legibility of advertising messages against any product background.

Layer settings#

In the template, choose a specific layer for the geometric shape (circle, rectangle, or triangle), which you then place anywhere on the canvas. You can freely change the shape’s dimensions, fill color, border, and add further effects. You can also write text directly onto it. All settings are made in the template settings panel on the right.

Text#

You can write any static text onto the shape. In the layer settings, you can easily adjust the font, its style (e.g. Regular), color, size in pixels, alignment, and letter spacing. There’s also the option to enable Text wrapping.

Fill#

Use the fill to set the shape’s color. You can choose a solid fill (using a HEX code or a brand palette) or select a gradient.

Border#

The Border parameter adds an outline around the shape in a set color and thickness. The border color is entered as a hex code. The border thickness is set in the Border width field.

Effects#

Reflection – adds a mirror reflection below the shape.
Shadow – adds a drop shadow behind the shape.

Position and dimensions#

Position – the X and Y coordinates determine the layer’s placement on the canvas in pixels. The layer can also be moved by dragging it directly on the canvas.
Dimensions – the width and height of the shape in pixels.
Rotation – the layer’s rotation in degrees, adjustable with a slider or numerically.

Typical use cases#

Text label (CTA) – inserting a colored rectangle with CTA text, e.g. “Sale” or “Free shipping” to instantly grab attention.
Discount circles – creating a striking circle in which you write the discount amount, creating a clean and legible promotional badge.

FAQ#

Can I insert a dynamic element from the feed into a shape (e.g. the price)?#

In this layer, the text field is meant for static text (the same for all products). If you want to insert a dynamic value into the shape (e.g. the current price or availability), leave the shape’s text field empty and place a separate Feed element layer over the shape.

How do I make a backing shape semi-transparent?#

You set transparency directly in the color selector in the Fill field. When entering a HEX code or choosing from the palette, you can adjust the transparency slider.

What happens to the text written into a shape if I shrink the shape a lot?#

If you shrink the shape’s dimensions so much that the text no longer fits, the text overflows outside it. We recommend adjusting the font size.
