Transparency#

Transparency is an effect in the Feed Image Editor graphic template that adjusts the transparency of the product image. Lowering the Alpha value makes the image partially transparent, so it blends with the background set in the template. The result is a visually merged effect.

Setting it up in the extension#

Transparency is activated with a toggle in the Other effects section on tab 4 in the right panel. Once enabled, the Alpha slider appears, with a value ranging from 0 to 1:

  • 1 – full opacity, the image looks as if there is no effect.

  • 0.5 – the product is half-transparent and blends with the background.

  • 0 – the image is fully transparent and not visible in the output.

When transparency comes in handy#

Transparency is especially useful in combination with Background settings – the product visually blends with the chosen background color or gradient, and the resulting image looks like a stylized graphic with a color transition. The most common uses:

  • Creative advertising formats – especially for Meta or display ads, where a more striking visual treatment of the image is desired.

  • Themed campaigns – blending the product with a campaign’s theme color (Christmas, seasonal, brand-related).

  • Consistent visual style – if you want product images to look more like a graphic collage than classic product photos.

FAQ#

Does transparency affect graphic layers added in the template too, or just the product image?#

Transparency in the Other effects section applies to the product image. Graphic layers (logos, labels, text) have their own transparency setting individually at the level of each layer and are not affected by this setting.

Can transparency be combined with Background removal?#

Yes. After background removal, transparency can be used to blend the product cutout itself with the set background color or gradient – the result is an effect where the product’s color blends with the background without a visible boundary.

Can transparency be set to a specific numeric value, or only with the slider?#

The Alpha value can be set with the slider to any value from 0 to 1, so also values like 0.35, and so on.
