How to send data from Mergado Orders to Sklik and Google Ads#
Want to use order data from your online store running on Eshop-rychle for retargeting campaigns? Combine two free Mergado extensions: Mergado Orders and PPC Wolf.
Step 1: Preparing data in Mergado Orders#
First, you need to obtain the email addresses and purchase history of your customers from your Eshop-rychle online store. The Mergado Orders extension will help you with this.
- In the Mergado Orders interface, click New connection.
- Enter any Name for the connection.
- As the Aggregation type, select Email. This is key, because retargeting audiences are built on customer email addresses.
- In the Aggregation days field, choose the time period for which data should be downloaded (7, 30, 90, 180, or 360 days).
- We recommend checking Restrict feed access to the Mergado system only for greater security when downloading sensitive data.
- Enter the API URL, which you obtain from the Eshop-rychle admin.
- Save by clicking Create.
- In the list on the Connections overview page, click the refresh icon next to this export.
Step 2: Transferring data to Mergado Editor#
Now you need to get the data from Mergado Orders into Mergado Editor, from where PPC Wolf will pick it up. You do this by creating a new project in Mergado.
- Next to the export you created in Mergado Orders, click the Mergado logo icon.
- This icon redirects you directly to Mergado Editor and opens the new project creation wizard.
- In the input format settings, select Plain CSV.
- As the matching element, select
EMAIL. - In the output format settings, select Plain CSV.
Step 3: Segmenting customers#
After creating the project, go to the Products tab in Mergado Editor. Here, create queries (segments) you want to target in the retargeting campaign.
See how to create individual segments for retargeting campaigns.
Step 4: Creating an audience in PPC Wolf#
Your data is ready. Now use PPC Wolf to send it to the ad platforms.
- In the PPC Wolf interface, create a connection to Sklik or Google Ads.
- In the Audiences section, click Create new audience.
- Fill in the Audience name and optionally a Description for easier identification.
- As the Export, select the project you created in step 2.
- Select the specific Query you created in step 3, which you want to target with the retargeting campaign.
- In the Element with email addresses field, select
EMAIL. - Choose which ad platform (Sklik or Google Ads) you are creating the audience for, and send it.
ℹ️ Only use emails from customers who have consented to ad personalization (cookies/GDPR).
FAQ#
What do I need to use order data for retargeting campaigns?#
You need three things — an online store on the Eshop-rychle.cz platform, the Mergado Orders extension activated, and the PPC Wolf extension activated. Both extensions are free.
Why isn’t it enough to use data directly from Eshop-rychle without Mergado?#
Mergado Orders and Mergado Editor allow you to easily segment the order data — that is, filter exactly the group of customers you want to target. PPC Wolf then sends this prepared audience directly to the ad platform in just a few clicks.
Why do I have to choose Email as the aggregation type and not another type?#
Retargeting audiences in both Sklik and Google Ads are built on customer email addresses. Only the Email aggregation type creates an export where each customer is identified by their email and all purchase statistics are linked to it.
How long a period (aggregation days) should I choose?#
It depends on the campaign’s purpose. To reach recent customers, 30 days is sufficient. To identify VIP customers or analyse repeat purchases, 90, 180, or 360 days is more appropriate.
Why restrict feed access to the Mergado system only?#
The Email export type contains personal customer data. Restricting access to Mergado’s IP address ensures data cannot be downloaded from elsewhere, reducing the risk of misuse.
Where do I find the API URL for connecting to Eshop-rychle?#
In the Eshop-rychle admin, go to Online store → Export → API section (bottom of the page). Make sure the “Enable orders API” option is checked.
How do I get data from Mergado Orders into Mergado Editor?#
Next to the export in Mergado Orders, click the Mergado logo icon. This redirects you directly to Mergado Editor, where the new project creation wizard will launch.
What format should I choose when creating the project?#
Choose Plain CSV for both the input and output format. The export from Mergado Orders is a plain CSV file without the specific structure of a product feed, and this format ensures it loads correctly.
What is the matching element and what should I enter there?#
The matching element serves as the unique identifier for each record in the project when creating it. Since we are working with an export aggregated by customers, enter EMAIL as the matching element.
Do I have to create segments (queries), or can I send an audience without them?#
You don’t have to create segments if you want to reach all customers in the export. However, segmentation allows you to target more precisely and effectively.
Can I send the same audience to both Sklik and Google Ads at the same time?#
Not directly. You need to create a separate audience in PPC Wolf for each ad platform.
How do I know the audience was successfully sent to the ad platform?#
The audience will appear directly in the ad platform (in Sklik or Google Ads), where you can then work with it when setting up campaigns.
How do I ensure GDPR compliance when working with customer emails?#
Only use emails from customers who have consented to ad personalization. This consent is typically part of the cookie settings on the online store.
