Exports#

The Exports page serves as the central management of all the exports you’ve created in Pricing Fox. Here you’ll find an overview of both one-off and regular exports, and you can manage them in one place.

The exports themselves are created on other pages of the app:

  • product exports (CSV, XLS, HTML) on the Products page

  • exports of competitor stores from price comparison sites in the Reports -> Competition section

You won’t find the Universal XML export here – it’s a special type of connection and is managed on the Connections page.

What you’ll find on the page#

The exports table#

The main part of the page is a table of all created exports. To quickly find a specific export, use the search field at the top – it searches the export name, URL, type, format, and email address.

In the table you see the following for each export:

Column Description
Type + format The type of export (e.g. Products, Competition) and file format (CSV, XLS, HTML)
Name The export name entered when it was created
Filter The query of products the export is based on
Record count The number of rows in the most recently generated export
Regenerated The date and time of the last regeneration
Last access When the export was last opened or downloaded
Status The current processing status (Done, In progress, Error)
Send by email Whether automatic emailing of the export is set up
Public address Whether the export has a public URL – click the icon to copy it

Actions for each export#

Quick actions are available for each row in the table:

  • Manual regeneration – triggers an immediate regeneration of the export with current data

  • Download – downloads the current version of the export to your computer

  • Edit – lets you change the name, selected columns, or sending settings

  • Delete – removes the export permanently

The public address of an export#

If the export has a public address set, a link icon is shown in the corresponding column. Click it to copy the address – you can share it, for example, with a colleague or use it to connect to an external tool. An export with a public address is automatically regenerated twice a day.

Exports without a public address and without email sending set up are one-off – they’re automatically deleted a week after creation. If you want to keep an export, give it a public address or set up regular sending.

FAQ#

Why does my export seem outdated? Regular exports are automatically regenerated twice a day. If you need current data immediately, use the manual regeneration button next to the given export in the table.

Where do I create a new export? Exports aren’t created on this page, but directly from the source data – product exports on the Products page, competition exports in the Reports -> Competition section. The Exports page is only for managing exports you’ve already created.

How do I share an export with a colleague? Generate a public address for the export – the link icon appears in the Public address column. Click it to copy the address and pass it on. An export with a public address is updated automatically, so your colleague always sees current data.

Can I have multiple versions of the same export? Yes. Each export is a separate record – you can have, for example, one HTML export for presenting to a client and one CSV export for connecting to a BI tool, both based on the same product filter.

What happens if I delete an export with a public address? The public address stops working immediately after the export is deleted. Inform any recipients of the address in advance.
