Activity Scheduler#
Activity Scheduler lets you set from when to when a template in Feed Image Editor should be active. Activation and deactivation happen automatically at the scheduled time, with no need for manual action when the campaign starts or ends.
How it works#
Each template can have a start date, an end date, or both set as a precisely defined period. Outside the set period, the template is inactive and does not apply to images. Once the period expires, the template deactivates automatically. It is not deleted – it simply stops processing images.
Settings in the extension#
Activity Scheduler is set directly in the template, in the right-hand panel, in the Template activity settings section:
-
To start immediately after saving, click Active now; to schedule it, choose Schedule start.
-
In the calendar that appears, choose a start date, an end date, or both.
-
Click Save.
Overview of scheduled templates#
On the Templates page, each template shows information about its active period. This gives you an overview of all scheduled campaigns in one place and helps you avoid a template running longer than intended, or not starting on time.
When the scheduler comes in handy#
Seasonal campaigns – Christmas, sale, or holiday graphics activate and deactivate exactly on the chosen date without having to watch the deadlines manually.
Short-term promotions – weekend discounts, flash sales, or promotions with a precise end date. You only need to prepare the template in advance and schedule it.
Preparing campaigns ahead of time – a template can be created and scheduled weeks in advance, even before the campaign itself has started. It activates automatically the moment it’s due.
FAQ#
What happens to the template once the set period has elapsed?#
The template deactivates automatically and stops applying to images, but it remains saved in the list of templates under the Inactive tab. It can be reactivated or edited and rescheduled for a new period at any time.
Can I set only a start date without an end date, or vice versa?#
Yes. Both values are optional and can be combined however you like – only a start date (the template will run permanently from that day on), only an end date (the template will run from the moment it’s saved until the given date), or both as a precisely bounded period.
How precise is the activation and deactivation – to the hour, or only by day?#
The template’s activity is governed by the date set in the calendar, but the actual activation time depends on when Mergado regenerates the feed and applies the rules. Regeneration can be scheduled using Mergado’s regeneration scheduler, which lets you set specific regeneration times up to 8 times a day, with a minimum interval of 1 hour. If you need the template to activate at a precise hour, set the corresponding regeneration time in Mergado.
Can I have multiple templates active for different product queries during the same period?#
Yes. Activity Scheduler works independently for each template. Multiple templates can be active at the same time, each applying to its own product query according to the configured hierarchy.
How do I tell in the list of templates which ones are currently active and which are scheduled for the future?#
In the Templates section, each template displays information about its active period. Templates whose start date has not yet arrived, or has already passed, are visible under the Inactive tab.
Can I deactivate a template manually before the set period elapses?#
Yes. A template can be deactivated manually at any time regardless of the set end date, for example if a campaign ends early or the plan changes.
