How to connect Sklik and Mergado Sources#
Connecting Sklik to the Mergado Sources extension lets you automatically import keyword performance data directly into your product feeds. The process is straightforward and consists of a few steps in the Sklik interface followed by Mergado Sources.
Sklik API limits#
Sklik has set limits on the number of API requests. If you are processing a large volume of data (e.g., 50,000 keywords), downloading all values may take some time.
On the first project regeneration, Mergado Sources loads the keywords and sends queries to the Sklik API. The retrieved values are stored in the cache and written to the elements only on the next regeneration. The API is not queried repeatedly for the same input, which preserves your API limits.
Using your own account and API key is the most transparent approach — you use your own query limits directly with Sklik, without any intermediaries.

FAQ#
What do I need to connect Sklik to Mergado Sources?#
You need an active account at Sklik.cz and the API key copied from it. You also need the Mergado Sources extension activated for the relevant project in Mergado Editor.
Where do I find the API key in Sklik?#
Sign in to Sklik.cz, click your profile (the email address in the top right), and go to Settings. You will find the API key at the very bottom of the page in the Get API access section.
What data can I import from Sklik?#
From Sklik, you can import average cost per click (avgCpc) and average keyword search volume (avgSearchCount) for approximately the last two months.
Why didn’t data appear right after the first project regeneration?#
On the first regeneration, Mergado Sources loads the keywords and sends queries to the Sklik API. Data is only written to the elements on the next regeneration, after downloading it. You therefore need to regenerate the project at least twice.
Why is some data still missing from my feed even after regenerating the project several times?#
The cause may be a large volume of keywords being processed. Sklik has set limits on the number of API requests, so downloading all values may take some time. Mergado Sources downloads data progressively and stores it in the cache — try regenerating the project again after some time and the data should gradually fill in.
How do I know the connection to Sklik is working?#
On the Data sources tab in the Mergado Sources interface, you will see a green “Connection is active” status next to the Sklik source.
