Resolution enhancement#

Resolution enhancement (Upscale) is an AI feature in Feed Image Editor that increases the resolution of small or pixelated product images in bulk and automatically. The extension computes the missing pixels and smooths jagged edges, without you having to manually edit every single image.

How it works#

The Upscale feature is applied to all images in the feed that are smaller than 600 × 600 pixels. Images with a higher resolution pass through to the output feed unchanged. The feature therefore only intervenes where needed.

Setting it up in the extension#

Upscale is set up through templates in Feed Image Editor. Steps:

1. Open Feed Image Editor and create a new template.

2. In the right panel, on tab 4, select the Resolution enhancement feature.

3. Apply it to a product query of low-resolution images. The extension identifies these products automatically, so there is no need to search for them manually.

4. Select the output format.

5. Name the template and save it.

Why good resolution matters#

Many price comparison sites and advertising platforms have minimum resolution requirements for product images. Images below this threshold may be rejected or displayed in low quality, which negatively affects both product visibility and how trustworthy the online store looks to customers.

What is the exact criterion for an image to be processed by the Upscale feature?#

Output images are stored under new URLs generated by Feed Image Editor. In the output feed, products will reference the edited versions of the images, not the originals.
