Template Import#

Template Import lets you upload a template saved as a .JSON file into Feed Image Editor, whether it was exported from another project or handed over by a colleague or agency. The result is a finished template ready to use, with no need to build it manually.

How to do it#

1. Open Feed Image Editor in the project you want to import the template into.

2. Click Import template (the button next to New template) and select the .JSON file from your computer.

3. The template loads and appears in the list of templates.

After importing, you need to review and, if necessary, adjust:

• Product query – not included in the import; it needs to be set up again.

• Output format – when you import a template into a project for a different platform.

• Text labels and prices – if the template comes from a project in a different language or market, check the translations and price format.

Typical use cases#

Reusing templates across outputs – if you have separate outputs in Mergado for different advertising systems (Facebook, Zboží.cz, Heureka), import the exported template into each of them and save time on repeated setup.

Reusing templates from an agency or colleague – an exported file can be handed over and imported into any project, without having to share access to the original project.

FAQ#

Does importing a template also bring over the product query?#

No. The product query is tied to the data of a specific project, and it needs to be set up again after importing.

Where in the template hierarchy does the imported template get placed?#

An imported template is placed first in the hierarchy, just like a newly created template. The order can then be adjusted manually by dragging.

Can I import a template repeatedly, for example to update it after the original changes?#

Yes. You can import it again at any time. The imported template is added as a new one; it doesn’t automatically overwrite the existing version. You may then need to delete or deactivate the original template manually.

Can I import a template created in an older version of the extension?#

Compatibility of older files depends on how much has changed between extension versions. If the import fails or the template doesn’t look right, we recommend contacting customer support (support@feedimageeditor.com).
