Text#

The Text layer lets you add any text element to a product image. Each text layer has its own typography, color, position, and effect settings and can be placed precisely on the canvas.

Layer settings#

Content#

Enter the layer’s content in the Text field, for example “New”, “Free shipping”, or “Add to cart”.

Typography#

  • Font – choose a font from the available selection or a custom font.

  • Style – the weight and style of the font (Regular, Bold, Italic, etc.).

  • Size – font size in pixels, entered directly or using the arrows.

  • Color – the text color’s hex code entered directly into the field.

  • Letter spacing – kerning, adjusts the horizontal spacing between characters.

  • Text wrapping – when enabled, text wraps onto a new line when it reaches the edge of the layer. When disabled, text extends past the layer’s boundary.

Alignment and transformation#

The alignment panel contains buttons for horizontal text alignment (left, center, right) and vertical alignment within the text field. Options for changing letter case are also available: ABC (uppercase), aA (keep original), and combinations of the two.

Border#

The Border parameter adds an outline around the text in a set color and thickness. The border color is entered as a hex code. The border thickness is set in the Border width field. A border improves text legibility on backgrounds of varying colors.

Effects#

  • Reflection – adds a mirror reflection below the text.

  • Shadow – adds a drop shadow behind the text.

Position and dimensions#

  • Position – the X and Y coordinates determine the layer’s placement on the canvas in pixels. The layer can also be moved by dragging it directly on the canvas.

  • Dimensions – the width and height of the text field in pixels.

  • Rotation – the layer’s rotation in degrees, adjustable with a slider or numerically.

FAQ#

Can I use more than one text layer in a single template?#

Yes. Each text layer is independent and has its own settings. For example, you can combine a layer with the product name, a layer with the price, and a layer with a promotional label, each with different typography and placement.

Can I change the font to a custom one, such as my company’s font?#

The available fonts are the ones offered in the extension’s interface. If you’d like to use a custom font, write to us at support@feedimageeditor.com.

How do I keep text legible on product images with varying colors?#

The most reliable solution is combining colored text with a contrasting border – for example, white text with a dark border, or vice versa. Alternatively, you can add a semi-transparent colored area as a separate background layer beneath the text layer.

Can I rotate a text layer to any angle?#

Yes. The Rotation slider lets you rotate the layer to any angle, for example for diagonal labels in the corner of the image.
