How to Connect PPC Wolf and Google Ads#

Connecting PPC Wolf to Google Ads is an essential step for the extension to automatically send and update your ad campaigns directly in Google Ads. The entire connection process is activated via authorization through your Google account and takes just a few minutes.

Even though you do not manually enter an API key into PPC Wolf, all subsequent communication and data transfer between the extension and the advertising platform happens securely via API.

Creating a connection in PPC Wolf#

Open the PPC Wolf extension interface in Mergado.

  1. In the main menu, go to the Ad Systems page.
  2. In the Google Ads box, click Activate connection.
  3. Log in to your Google account. A Google account login page will open in a new browser window. Use the account that has access to the relevant ads.
  4. Grant permission. Follow the activation wizard and confirm PPC Wolf’s permission to access your Google Ads.
  5. Select the ad account. After being automatically returned to the PPC Wolf interface, a list of available accounts will appear in the Customer ID field. Select the specific ad account you want to work with for this online store. The connection detail will then show the ID (number) of the connected account.
  6. Confirm by clicking Save.

Important information about the connection#

  • Account support — PPC Wolf supports connecting regular Google Ads accounts directly as well as via MCC accounts. Even so, for greater clarity we recommend using a Google account that has only one specific ad account.
  • Connection limit — Only one Google Ads account can be connected to a single PPC Wolf installation (for one specific online store in Mergado).
  • Removing the connection — If you want to remove the Google Ads connection in the future, you must first delete all existing campaigns for Google Ads in PPC Wolf.
  • Data security — PPC Wolf stores only connection information and data about campaigns it has created. It does not have access to other campaigns in Google Ads or to performance statistics.
  • If the Google authorization window does not open at all, try a different browser or a different operating system. If that does not help, try connecting the ad account via a different Google account.

Once the systems are connected, you can proceed to creating your first campaign using the wizard on the Campaigns page. Keep in mind that to create a campaign in PPC Wolf, you need to have a shared budget and a bidding strategy already set up in the Google Ads admin. PPC Wolf cannot create these itself, but they are essential for successfully creating a campaign and actually running ads.
