Template Export#

Template Export lets you download a finished template from Feed Image Editor as a .JSON file and then share it or use it in another project. This is useful when you want to use the same template across multiple projects, different advertising outputs, or language versions of a store, without having to build it from scratch again.

How to do it#

Open Feed Image Editor in the project you want to export the template from.
Next to the relevant template, click Export template.
The template is saved as a .JSON file to your computer.

The file can then be shared – for example, handed over to a colleague or agency and imported into any other project.

Typical use cases#

Multiple advertising outputs from one online store – in Mergado, Feed Image Editor is always tied to one specific output. If you advertise on, say, Facebook, Zboží.cz, and Heureka, you only need to create the template once, export it, and import it into each output separately.

Multiple language versions of a store – Czech and Slovak stores are set up in Mergado as separate projects. You only need to create the template in one of them, export it, and import it into the other. Note: if the template contains text labels or prices, you need to adjust the text for the correct language and format after import.

Sharing templates between users or agencies – the exported file can be handed to anyone, and the recipient imports it into their project using the standard procedure.

FAQ#

What exactly gets saved in the exported file?#

All template settings are exported: graphic layers, layout, effects, output format, and other template configuration. The product query is not exported, because it’s tied to the data of a specific project.

Can I export a template and import it into a project for a different type of output, for example from Zboží to Facebook?#

Technically yes, but the output format may not match the target platform’s requirements. After importing, we recommend checking the format settings and adjusting them if needed.
