What is the Keychain extension and how to set it up?#
Mergado Keychain is an extension that connects your Mergado account with external systems such as Heureka, Zboží.cz, Google Analytics, Shopify, and many others. It works as a secure key — a place where you store your login credentials for these platforms, and Mergado can then automatically pull the necessary data for other extensions like Bidding Fox or Pricing Fox, or for generating statistics and analyses.
Once you connect your accounts from other platforms, you don’t need to enter login credentials every time. Mergado connects to the platforms automatically and keeps access up to date.
Why you need Mergado Keychain#
You need Keychain when you decide to use Mergado extensions that work with data from external platforms you use. For example, if you decide to bid on Heureka using the Bidding Fox extension, you need to set up the Heureka connection in Keychain for Bidding Fox to work properly. You also need to set up a Keychain connection if you want to track sales statistics and analyses on the Analytics tab of your projects for Heureka or Zboží.cz.
This ensures that Mergado Editor and its extensions can work with up-to-date data from external sources — without manual login or file uploads.
Thanks to Keychain:
- all your connections and access credentials are in one place,
- you don’t need to repeatedly enter access credentials for external platforms into individual extensions,
- your data from Heureka, Zboží.cz, Google Analytics, and other systems syncs automatically,
- all connections are encrypted and secure — your access credentials are not visible even to our technical support team.
The extension is completely free for all users and is automatically activated when you create a project in Mergado. You then need to complete the connection to a specific platform by entering your access credentials.

How Mergado Keychain works#
After you enter your login credentials for the selected external system (e.g. Heureka) in Keychain, it stores them, encrypts them securely, and makes them available only to Mergado Editor and its selected extensions.
This allows Mergado and its selected extensions to load campaign performance data, track clicks, revenue and conversions, check credit balances on comparison shopping engines, or work with exports and statistics from your accounts.
How to activate Mergado Keychain#
Keychain is automatically activated for each of your online stores when you create a project in Mergado — no manual setup is needed. Set up connections with individual platforms as follows:
- On the main page of Mergado Editor, click the online store for which you want to set up a Keychain connection with an external system.
- On the left sidebar, you’ll see a list of your active extensions. Click Mergado Keychain.
- In the Connections section, select the platform from the list (e.g. Heureka, Zboží.cz, Google Analytics, or Shopify) for which you want to create a connection, and click Create.
- Fill in the required details and click Log in.
In the Sources section, you can also connect a static XML file to Mergado through Keychain. This lets Mergado process advanced information such as cost of goods or profit calculations.
How to solve the most common issues#
1. Keychain reports a connection error#
This most commonly happens because the password was changed on the platform, due to a temporary service outage on the platform’s side, or because the connection has expired (typically after a long period of inactivity or a change in the platform’s security policies). In this case, cancel the existing connection in Keychain, restore the login, and confirm access again.
2. Connection doesn’t work after changing the Heureka password#
After every password change, you need to renew the connection in Keychain — log out and log back in with the new credentials.
3. Connection can’t be restored#
If the connection repeatedly fails, try:
- logging in using an incognito browser window,
- clearing your browser cache,
- verifying that the login credentials work directly on the platform.
FAQ#
What is Mergado Keychain?#
Mergado Keychain is an extension that connects your Mergado account with external platforms such as Heureka, Zboží.cz/Sklik, Google Analytics, or Shopify. It securely stores your login credentials so that Mergado Editor and its extensions (e.g. Bidding Fox or Pricing Fox) can work with the necessary data from the platforms you use.
Do I need Keychain if I only use Mergado Editor?#
If you only work with Mergado Editor for feed editing, Keychain isn’t always essential. However, if you want to track sales statistics and analyses on the Overview or Analytics tabs for your Zboží.cz or Heureka projects, you need to set up a connection in Keychain.
A Keychain connection is also required when creating a project where you use data from your online store running on platforms like Shopify or UNAS as the product data source.
A Keychain connection is essential for using extensions like Pricing Fox, Bidding Fox, or Mergado Marketplaces.
Is Mergado Keychain paid?#
No. The Mergado Keychain extension is free for Mergado Editor users and is activated automatically when you create a project.
How do I know if I have Keychain activated?#
In Mergado, on the User details page, go to the Extension access section. In the For online stores column, you’ll see Mergado Keychain, which is activated automatically when you create a project. Clicking Mergado Keychain shows you the list of online stores where Keychain is active (meaning the online stores under which you have projects). From there, you can navigate directly to a specific online store where you want to set up a connection.
How do I create a connection with Heureka or Zboží.cz?#
- On the main page of Mergado Editor, click the online store for which you want to set up a Keychain connection with an external system.
- On the left sidebar, you’ll see a list of your active extensions. Click Mergado Keychain.
- In the Connections section, select the platform from the list (e.g. Heureka, Sklik API Fénix, Google Analytics, or Shopify) for which you want to create a connection, and click Create.
- Fill in the required details and click Log in.
Can I connect Sklik through Keychain?#
Yes. If you want to give Mergado access to data from Sklik/Zboží.cz, set up the Sklik API Fénix connection in Keychain.
What should I do if Keychain disconnects or reports a connection error?#
This most commonly happens due to a password change on the external platform, a temporary service outage, or connection expiration (e.g. after a long period of inactivity). In this case, cancel the existing connection in Keychain, log in again, and confirm access.
The connection stopped working after I changed my Heureka password. What should I do?#
After every credential change, you need to re-create the connection in Keychain — log out and log back in with the new credentials. This applies not only to Heureka but to all other external systems you have connected in Keychain.
I can’t restore the connection in Keychain. What else can I try?#
Try these steps:
- log in using an incognito browser window,
- clear your cache and cookies,
- for Heureka, verify that your login credentials work directly in the Heureka admin panel.
Are my login credentials safe?#
Yes. All credentials you enter into Keychain are encrypted and securely stored. They are not visible even to Mergado’s technical support team.
