Mergado is a web application for managing and editing product data, designed primarily for online stores and digital agencies. You can think of it as a smart assistant between your online store and advertising platforms (e.g. Heureka, Zboží.cz, Google, or Facebook).

When you send product data from your online store (e.g. from Shoptet, Shopify, or WooCommerce), Mergado lets you bulk-edit, supplement, or customize this data exactly as individual advertising channels require.

For example, you can:

  • segment products,
  • bulk-add a brand name to product titles,
  • fill in missing parameters,
  • map categories,
  • hide selected products,
  • bulk-edit product images to match the requirements of individual advertising platforms,
  • create several different versions of a product feed for different advertising channels.

The editing possibilities are nearly endless, and it is up to you how you improve your data. As a result, your products will be displayed correctly, with complete information and often better targeted — which in practice translates to higher campaign performance and fewer advertising errors.

On top of that, it will save you an enormous amount of time. Imagine how much time you would spend manually repricing products if your online store has thousands of items. And how long it would take to adjust hundreds of product images to Google’s exact required dimensions whenever you add new merchandise.

Who sets up Mergado?#

Mergado makes working with your product data significantly easier, but it is important to know that it is not a magic tool that does everything on its own. Every online store owner has their own strategies and wants to achieve different goals — and Mergado cannot figure that out for you. It still needs its conductor.

So you need to set up in Mergado yourself, through so-called rules, what should happen with your data, and you also need to continue fine-tuning and adjusting the data over time. The advantage, however, is that once you set up the rules, Mergado will automatically and in bulk apply them to hundreds or thousands of your products until you change or cancel them.

What skills do I need to work with Mergado?#

Mergado is a so-called no-code tool, meaning it lets you edit your product feeds without any coding knowledge. Working in Mergado is clear and organized — you don’t need to know how to program, and you set everything up simply by clicking through rules, filters, and straightforward forms. You can set up most rules by following our guides or with the help of our support team.

Who works with Mergado most often?#

In practice, Mergado is usually used by employees of online store marketing departments. If an online store works with an external marketing agency (or freelancer), the agency often takes over the responsibility for setting up feeds through Mergado.

Mergado also collaborates with selected agencies and freelancers, and after completing the required courses, training, and gaining practical experience, they become so-called certified partners — specialists who can professionally help you if you want to entrust the management of your product feeds to an external agency.

How does the connection and setup of Mergado work?#

1. Connecting the product data source and choosing the output format#

In Mergado, you create a user account and connect your existing product feed or use an integration.

At the same time, you choose which platform your data edited in Mergado should be sent to (e.g. Heureka, Kaufland Marketplaces, ChatGPT, Facebook).

2. Audit / data quality check#

If you choose this option when connecting your data source, Mergado will perform a free check (audit) of your data. Mergado Audit will flag technical errors or deficiencies and immediately recommend how to resolve them.

3. Defining rules, filters, and modifications#

You set up what changes should be made — e.g. name changes, filling in missing elements, price recalculations, product filtering, category mapping, and more. This is the key step that Mergado does not do on its own. Setting up rules and pricing or other strategies must be designed and confirmed by a person.

4. Automation / scheduling updates#

Mergado lets you set up regular recalculations, automatic triggering of modifications, data delivery to target platforms, process scheduling, and more. The mode and frequency of these processes are again set by the user.

5. Monitoring, tuning, and maintenance#

After launch, you need to continuously monitor whether the advertising on the target platform meets the expectations and goals you have set, whether errors or unwanted filtering are occurring, and based on the data, fine-tune existing rules or add new ones.
