Product Authorization#

Product authorization lets you decide which items from the input feed to let into Mergado and which to block. It comes in handy when you have a feed from a supplier and don’t want to offer the entire catalog, or when you want to control every new product that appears in the feed. Below you will find how to enable authorization, work with approval, and how to disable it again if needed.

Step-by-step guide#

1. Enabling during project creation#

1. In the wizard (last step), below the Matching elements you will find two buttons.
2. The bottom one is Enable product authorization — click it to activate.

2. What you will see after project creation#

• In the Overview, the output will show 0 products.
• In the lower-left area, a message “Products waiting for approval” will appear.
• This means you first need to authorize the products from the input feed.

3. Approving products#

1. Go to the Products section and open the Product authorization tab (at the top).

2. A list of all products from the input feed will appear.

3. Select individual products you want to approve.

   • To select all, use the checkbox on the first black bar on the far left.

4. Click Approve (or Reject).

After approval, the approved products will be rewritten into Mergado.

4. Disabling / re-enabling authorization#

• Authorization can be disabled and re-enabled even for an already created project.
• Go to Settings, scroll down, and below the matching elements you will find a section with the option to disable/enable “Product authorization”.

Tips#

• Quick start: If you want to let the entire feed through, use the bulk selection checkbox on the first black bar and confirm with Approve.
• Careful review: If you want to be sure about new items, check the Product authorization tab regularly and approve only what you actually want in the output.
